We suggest burning your candle so the wax melts to the edges of the vessel each time it is lit. When your candle is lit for too short of time, tunneling will occur. Tunneling occurs when wax builds up around the perimeter of your vessel. Wax will then be wasted and will shorten the burn time of your candle.

For most candles an even melt pool will take approximately 2 hours.

Burn your candle for maximum of 4 hours at a time.

If you burn your candle longer than 4 hours, this will cause your wick to "mushroom." This can cause the wick to become unstable, and the flame to get too large. Your candle will then begin to smoke, and soot to be released into the air and around your candle container.

Let your candle cool for at least 2 hours before relighting.

1.

Burning time

This step is often missed which can lead to soot (black residue) that builds up in your vessel. Without trimming, you may notice smoke or an oversized flame. Trimming the wick before relighting will help you achieve a clean burn experience and lengthen the burn time of your candle. For easy candle care, we recommend using wick trimmers. It's a win-win!

Wooden wicks: trim the wick down to 3/16” height above the wax

If you don't have a wick trimmer, gently tap off any ash or burnt-top edge before relighting.

When you have reached the end of your candle, feel free to use it as a cute vase or holder. If you have purchased a ceramic vessel, don't forget about our Recycle Program. We can refill your vessel for you!

2.

Trim your wicks

Cotton wicks : trim the wick down to 1/4” height above the wax
